Van Sickle's Emelco AdditionWilliam Lincoln Van Sickle was born August 20, 1866 in Delaware County, Ohio, son of William W. and Mary Crane Van Sickle. He married Celestia Bland in Delaware County on November 12, 1896. The had a son, William B. (1900)
Van Sickle was an attorney and banker. In 1891 he founded the Columbian Building & Loan Company, the only Columbus savings and loan institution to fail during the Great Depression. Van Sickle's firm was liquidated July 24, 1935. In 1940 the Van Sickles lived at 189 North Parkview Avenue in Bexley. Van Sickle died in Cincinnati on June 14, 1940. He is buried at Greenlawn Cemetery. |
